CETT-ELTE BUDAPEST B.Ed. Programme

AFN-200 / 204 (ex AT-200 / AT-204) Advanced Writing I / 2 (2hrs/wk, 2 credits)

The main aim of this two-semester course is to further develop students’ writing skill in areas related to their academic, professional and everyday writing needs. The major focus in the second semester is on preparing students for writing up their third year research project. The course involves continued work on a selection of text types relevant to a teacher’s needs, such as various types of essays, personal and business letters, notes, memos, posters, journals and short stories. Considerable attention is paid to skills related to thesis writing. As their major assignment students write a 6-8 page Literature Review on a methodology topic of their own choice.

Course grades are based on a series of assignments, the major ones being the literature review and one in-class test.
